The Official Launch of the Nigeria Telford Community & Nigerian Independence Day Celebration

Deputy Lieutenant, Sir Edward Tate Bt had the pleasure of representing The Lord Lieutenant at the Randlay Community Centre to celebrate the 63rd anniversary of Nigerian Independence and the official launch of the Telford Nigeria Community.

The beautifully decorated venue was filled to capacity with all ages and a program of festivities included excellent talks on heritage & health, lively music, dance and amazing regional food all freshly prepared by volunteers.

Originally set up as a grass roots organisation in 2016 the Nigeria Telford Community aims to promote culture, diversity, support and inclusion with the added benefits of advancing education and health. Saturday’s highly successful official launch will add impetus to this.

Credit for the day rests with Belinda Ezeazu (chairperson), her hard working committee and each and every person who attended.
