Request a Message from HM the King for Birthdays and Anniversaries

Birthdays and Anniversaries marked by HM The King

Receiving a message from The King is an extra special gesture to mark a memorable day and is met with delight from recipients.

Some life events are worth recognition and that is certainly true of the milestones that can be celebrated with a personal message from The King.

Who can request a message from The King

Available to anyone marking these special occasions, a family member can apply for a message to be sent for the following milestones:

  • 100th birthday
  • 105th birthday (and every year after)
  • 60th wedding anniversary (diamond anniversary)
  • 65th wedding anniversary (blue sapphire anniversary)
  • 70th wedding anniversary (platinum anniversary)

If you would like a family member or friend to receive a message from The King to mark one of the above celebrations, make sure you apply to the Government office five weeks before the date.

Personal greetings and visits from the Lord-Lieutenant

The Lord-Lieutenant, Vice Lord-Lieutenant and Deputy Lieutenants are always delighted to visit Shropshire recipients of Birthday and Anniversary messages on their special day.  Please contact the Lieutenancy Team to arrange a Birthday or Anniversary visit.

In the event that you overlook the date, belated applications can also be made up to six months after the date.

If you need any further information or advice on how to request a message from The king, please contact the Shropshire Lieutenancy for advice.
