Leaving their legacy on an important role
The Shropshire Lieutenancy has a strong history, stretching back centuries after first being established by Henry VIII in 1540. While the office was initially covered by the Lord- Lieutenant of Wales before the English Civil War, Shropshire has had its own Lord–Lieutenant from the time of the Restoration.
