Shrewsbury Town Armed Forces Match Day

Shrewsbury Town Armed Forces Covenant Day

Shrewsbury Town Armed Forces Match Day

The Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Anna Turner attended the the annual Armed Forces match day to watch Shrewsbury Town play Oxford United.  As a start to the event, fans saw a Juno helicopter  from Number 1 Flying Training School at RAF Shawbury deliver the ball to the pitch.

Now in its seventh year the annual event, hosted and organised by Shrewsbury Town in the Community and the Shropshire Armed Forces Covenant team, highlights Armed Forces veterans’ contribution to our country, as well as showcasing the commitment and skill of our current members of the military.

As well as enjoying the match, supporters were able to spend time in the Armed Forces fan park where they learnt more about the Armed Forces, charities, and enjoyed exhibitions and competitions.
