Midlands Poppy Appeal Launch

HM Lord-Lieutenant was represented by Deputy Lieutenant Claire Crackett at the Midlands launch of the Poppy Appeal on Thursday 27th October.  Representatives from throughout the region gathered at RAF Cosford for the launch of the appeal, which also featured a special poppy created using a 3D printer and a hologram based on it; not to mention having the wonderful backdrop of a Red Arrow.  Contactless machine are being used this year, making it easier than ever to donate – and then wear your poppy with pride.

In Oswestry , Deputy Lieutenant Veronica Lillis had the pleasure of meeting with 103 year old Colin Cole who has been helping with the Poppy Appeal for well over 40 years with many stories to tell.  She presented him with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Royal British Legion at Morrisons supermarket.
