The lord-lieutenant of shropshire, Anna Turner, spent a very happy afternoon on the Llangollen Canal with Kenton, Chris and Alan, three of the wonderful volunteers from the Lyneal Trust. The boat is specially adapted for wheelchairs and gives a perfect view of life on the water. It was a very relaxing afternoon and a wonderful way to see some of the finest scenery in the country.
The Lyneal Trust is a registered charity that provides holidays and canal boat trips for people with disabilities with their families, friends or in groups, from its base at Lyneal Wharf. In 2008 it was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service, often described as the MBE for voluntary organisations.
