Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service Workshop

Queen's Award for Voluntary Service workshop

Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service Workshop

Often described as the MBE for voluntary groups, the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service was created by Her Majesty in 2002 in celebrating her Golden Jubilee.  Every year since, recipients have been announced on the anniversary of the Coronation, 2nd June.  This is considered the most prestigious award for voluntary groups, each one receiving a beautiful crystal and certificate bearing HM’s signature and thereafter permitted to use the QAVS logo on their website, stationery etc.

The Award aims to recognise outstanding work by volunteer groups for the benefit of their local communities: is a wonderful accolade for largely unsung heroes.  Most of those living in Shropshire know they live in a beautiful place but our county is made all the more beautiful by the joint endeavours of people trying to make it better still… for individuals, for their communities and for society as a whole.  We are keen to reach more voluntary sector organisations to reward the work they do, year in, year out.  They do not have to be registered charities: any voluntary organisation with three or more volunteers, can be nominated.

This workshop is free to attend.
