

HM Lord-Lieutenant for Shropshire, Anna Turner presented the most prestigeous award in business – The Queen’s Award for Enterprise to Telford based Scanning Pens Ltd.
Established in 2003 in Telford, West Midlands, Scanning Pens Ltd is a worldwide EdTech company providing reading support to students with reading difficulties, guided by its co-founders, Jack Churchill and Toby Sutton. Its assistive technology has been integrated into schools across all ages, aiding dyslexics and English language learners. ˜ExamReader’ and ˜ReaderPen’ allow students to be supported in a classroom without the need of a human reader. The last three years has seen a significant increase in its overseas markets growing from one UK office and 10 UK staff, to two UK offices, and one office each in USA, Australia, Canada, and India with over 80 staff around the world. Overseas Sales have grown by 216% and the percentage of sales exported has also grown from 44% to 60%. The company wins the Queen’s Award for International Trade for Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years.
