The Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire was delighted to join pupils and staff at Norton in Hales Primary School Nr Market Drayton to help them plant 90 saplings – one for every pupil in the school, on land kindly donated by local farmer Mr Eardley.
This planting will celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee under the Queen’s Green Canopy Campaign, a tree planting initiative which will see trees planted across the United Kingdom as a lasting legacy for Her Majesty’s 70 years on the Throne.
