The Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire visits Veolia

The Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Anna Turner visited Veolia in Horton Wood to hear first hand from the team what happens to our rubbish and how it is processed.

Veolia is the recycling and waste contractor for Telford & Wrekin Council. They work in partnership to ensure an efficient service to residents of the borough.   The recycling contract began in 2014 and over the years has developed to include a purpose built Integrated Waste Management Facility and weekly food waste service. They are responsible for all kerbside collections, two Household Recycling Centres and the bulky waste collection service.  Alongside their operational commitments the team offers educational resources, talks, workshops and more to residents to promote the importance of recycling. They also have an annual grant that offers financial support to community groups who work to better the environment in the borough.
