Telford Gurdwara Visit

The Vice Lord-Lieutenant, Jenny Wynn was given a very warm welcome when she visited the women’s group at the Gurdwara in Telford.

The group is open to everyone of all ages from the Hindu, Sikh and Muslim community  and they have been meeting for many years on a regular basis at the Gurdwara.  They come together to prepare and share food, exercise together and generally provide support and companionship to one another to help with loneliness and isolation.  Many of the older ladies have limited English so this support group is a huge comfort .

Over the Jubilee weekend over 300 people came together to celebrate, the largest gathering   since the pandemic.
