05 Jul Shropshire’s Outstanding Community Award 2021
The Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Jenny Wynn, joined the High Sheriff of Shropshire and the Mayor of Wellington for the presentation of the inaugural Shropshire’s Outstanding Community Award 2021 at Sunnycroft National Trust Garden. This was followed by afternoon tea to say thank you to all the volunteers and businesses but especially members of “love Wellington” who helped them win Shropshire’s Outstanding Community Award (large town category). Unable to celebrate last year, there were over 100 people gathered to see Cllr Dorothy Robertson Mayor of Wellington, receive the award.
The Community Foundation created the award to celebrate the work of thousands of volunteers who play an active role in their local area, helping people to live fulfilling lives and overcome disadvantage, and shine a light on the community spirit.
