Shropshire Town and Community Newsletter Issue 11

I would compare preparation for a Royal visit to organising three simultaneous weddings, Bridezilla on board too! The attention to detail, choosing venues, changing plans, placating those who feel left out, managing disappointment, curbing exhilaration, trying to thank all involved and making sure it is the best day ever has given me huge respect for so many in our county. Particular thanks and praise to West Mercia Police who totally embrace the merits of our Royal family and take care of their safety with utmost diligence. For Her Majesty’s visit to Shrewsbury the crowd was sublime and when I turned around the corner in the escort car
behind the maroon Royal Bentley to witness the vast crowd that had gathered in the cold just to convey their appreciation to our Queen, I was over the moon. I could see Her Majesty relax and become able to share the enthusiasm and kindness being shown.
