

Newly-commissioned Deputy Lieutenant, Mrs Jo Baugh, attended her first solo engagement on Saturday 19th July 2025.
Mrs. Baugh was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant by His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Mrs Anna Turner, on 23rd May 2025 and was officially presented with her commission at the recent Lord-Lieutenant’s Garden Party in June.
Jo has worked alongside the Lieutenancy since 2021but was delighted to be invited to become a Deputy Lieutenant. Upon her commission Jo said:
“It is a total honour to be invited to become a Deputy Lieutenant and I look forward to supporting the work of the Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire in the County.”
Deputy Lieutenants are chosen from across Shropshire to support the work of the Lord-Lieutenant. With a history of serving the community and living in the local area, Deputy Lieutenants will assist in carrying out engagements and visits.
Last week Jo attended the annual Melville Club afternoon tea in Albrighton.Mrs Baugh said:
“ It was so interesting to take a look around the vibrant club, meet with the team and the Melville club members and learn more about the way the club supports the community. It was also lovely to be doing my first solo engagement as Deputy Lieutenant in my home village of Albrighton.”
