
Deputy Lieutenant Robert Bland was delighted to represent the Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, Mrs Anna Turner at the re-opening of the Severn Valley Railway.
Following months of closure due to a landslide at Mor Brook near Bridgnorth earlier this year, the 16.5-mile heritage line between Kidderminster and Bridgnorth is now fully operational once again and what better way to mark the occasion than with the most famous steam locomotive as its VIP guest, The A3 Pacific No 60103 ‘Flying Scotsman’.
The iconic locomotive carried out the important duty of hauling the first train this season along the full length of the SVR’s line to the delight of a large crowd that gathered at Bridgnorth to welcome the train and its passengers.
