51 students from Sir John Talbot’s School received their Duke of Edinburgh Awards, 44 Bronze awards and 7 Silver and the Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire was delighted to be able to present the students with the awards in front of parents and supporters. She praised the students for the innovative ideas that had to be deployed in order to complete the awards during lockdown.
The school has a number of Duke of Edinburgh ambassadors and their role is to promote The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award to all students in Sir John Talbot’s. They offer support sessions for participants to help them sign off their awards. The ambassadors also wear an ‘Ambassadors Badge’ so any students can approach them and find out more about the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme at school.
