Five Shropshire recipients honoured with British Empire Medals

There was a wonderful atmosphere of pride and celebration at Lilleshall House, where five worthy recipients were presented with their British Empire Medals by the Lord-Lieutenant of Shropshire, Mrs Anna Turner as part of the King’s Birthday Honours.

The special ceremony brought together the recipients, their families and friends to celebrate their remarkable achievements and the recognition of their dedication and service to their communities.

The citations for each recipient were read aloud, giving everyone present an opportunity to hear about the outstanding contribution each had made and why they had been chosen to receive this prestigious honour.

The ceremony was supported by the Vice Lord-Lieutenant, alongside several Deputy Lieutenants and the Lord-Lieutenant’s Cadet RAF AC Flight Sergeant Joseph Beard, adding a wonderful sense of occasion to what was already a very special day.

For the five recipients, receiving their medals in front of their families made the occasion particularly meaningful. There was a strong sense of pride as loved ones watched them receive recognition for the time, energy and commitment they had given to others over many years.

The presentation at Lilleshall House was a fitting celebration of five remarkable people and a chance to recognise the difference they have made to their communities.
